If you've seen Netflix's Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker, then you know all about Sarah Breedlove (a.k.a. Madam C.J Walker), an icon, often referred to as the "first self-made female millionaire in America," a trailblazer whose impact reached far beyond the her living.

Born Sarah Breedlove in 1867 & then working as a washerwoman, Walker had her own issues —hair-loss. She had a problem, and solved it for herself and others—hence her success. She wasn't the first to do it. In fact, Annie Turnbo Malone walked so Walker could run (we ain't forget about you Miss Annie!)

The Netflix movie "Self Made" captures this rise from humble beginnings to an entrepreneurial powerhouse, but there's more to the story.
